Fire proof doors

CAMPISAFIRE fire retardant sectional doors

Innovative fire retardant sectional door enabling space savings on the both sides of the door. Available in “static” and “intensive use” versions, generally automated what eliminates the need for installation of additional sectional or rollup doors.

Technical specification

Structure
CAMPISAFIRE door is built like a sectional door. The fire-retardant panels are about 600 mm high with weight depending on fire redundancy degree. Both sides have the same typology of finishing and fire resistance. The heart of the panel is “pulltruded” with fibreglass and special fireproof resins consolidated with catalyst that sublimate at the high temperatures leaving a resistant skeleton of fibreglass that grants for the strength also after the 1200 °C furnace tests. The sublimation does not emit toxic gas.  The functioning and the installation are quite similar to that one of the sectional doors.

Finishing

Outside panels are resistant to weather conditions. Door versions for 120 and 180 minutes are coated with yellow RAL 1024 acrylic paint. Panels can be painted with acrylic paints for external use which are available in speciality paint shops.
The 60 minutes resisting doors consist of only one pulltruded panel, filled with rock wool, with grey colour RAL7035. Upon request it can be coated with different colours at extra charge.

Installation and side space

CAMPISAFIRE overhead door can be installed like all other sectional doors of the types: STANDARD, HI-LINTEL, VERTICAL and LOW-LINTEL for doors up to 950 kg of own weight. The doors for 60 and 120 minutes resistance can also be installed with low lintels of dimensions minimum 450 – 550 mm (depending on the door size). Free side space up to 300 mm on each side is required. Walls have to be straight and levelled with the lintel. Always refer to the specific technical sheets for required space.

Opening

CAMPISAFIRE door is delivered with hydraulic drive FIDELITY which guaranties perfect performance and requires only minimum level of maintenance and complies with strict regulations applicable for construction of fire retardant doors. Door is opened by the drive and closed by gravitation. There are two versions available:

  • for “static” use: doors are lifted up by pneumohydraulic actuator which requires compressed air 8 bar (which can be provided by portable compressor)
  • for “intense” use: doors are lifted with three-phase 400V console. This system is perfect for underground garages and parking lots. Emergency option powered by DC 12 V, operating also without main power supply, is also available.

Components

The CAMPISAFIRE overhead door is composed of:

  • Sectional door: door leaf, guides, installation accessories.
  • Fidelity  hydraulic drive with 5 year guarantee (provided that the service agreement is signed)
  • Electro-hydraulic FIRE console that produces the hydraulic pressure for lifting the doors for intensive use or pneumohydraulic actuator for static use.

Operation mode settings

The doors are supplied for the following operations:

  • automatic closing in case of fire alarm and/or in case of lack of main power supply, with speed of approx. 0,08 m/s
  • stop without physical contact in case of detecting obstacle under the door, also in the case of main power supply failure. This allows the clearing the obstacle that is not in contact with the door. Door continues the closing at o,o8 m/s as the obstacle is removed, or when the back-up battery is empty.
  • when door is closed it retains fire retardant properties on both sides for the period corresponding to the fire protection class approved in tests

CAMPISAFIRE door capabilities

The doors are supplied for the following operations:

  • automatic closing at a fire alarm and/or in case of lack of main power supply, at a speed of 0,08 m/s
  • stop without physical contact in case of detecting obstacle under the door, also in the case of lack of main power supply. This allows the clearing the obstacle that is not in contact with the door; door continues the closing with speed of o,o8 m/s as the obstacle is removed, or when the back-up battery is empty.
  • audio alarm in case an obstacle is detected the closing door (with option of remotely repeat the alarm). It means a constant monitoring of door pathway for possible presence of obstacles.
  • standard and intensive use, automatic, settable also semi-automatic, open-stop-close-stop, with FIRE  Console with raising speed of about 0,18 or 0,27 m/s (depending on the dimensions and weight of the door), with normal closing speed of about 0,18 m/s, with FIRE closing under alarm with 0,08 m/s
  • optional DC 12 V console powered by two battery power unit with electronic power controller connected to main power supply enabling to operate the door during main power supply outages. With charged batteries we guaranty execution of 40 operations from the time of power outage.
  • optional blast proof system at lower costs due to installation of console in area not blast protected.

Fire resistance: Door is available in various EN 1634-1 fire resistance classes.

Class EN 1634-1

E 60 120 180
ET1 60 120 180
ET2 60 120 180

The fire resistance properties of CAMPISAFIRE doors were tested by the authorised body – CSI. The tests were carried out in the largest available furnace with dimensions 2,6m x 2,8m and the certified fire resistance exceeds by 10% the required value time what enabled to extend certification to larger size doors.

Protections CAMPISAFIRE

Fire resistant doors are expensive due to the required technologies and expensive components for their production.
It is logical to protect such investment from damages so the door can always provide best protection from the fire and also because repairs are expensive. Because of these we recommend:

  • always use strong protections of vertical guiding tracks along door opening.
  • if forklifts are used in vicinity of the door install bumpers at least on the base panel.

Optional protection systems
We always recommend using protective ribbing and multipoint photocells for monitoring door movement in case of obstacles appearance in the doorway with local alarm or alarm located in other location activating upon triggering of photocells.
Product is certified according to standard EN 1634-1

New standard EN 1634-1 enables unification in entire European Union. National certification is still used but it is obvious, that certification according to new European standard EN 1634-1 is preferable.

CE markings

CAMPISAFIRE door is currently marked with CE marking only on the basis of Machinery Directive 98/37/CE, amended Directive 98/79/CE and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 89/336/CE. The door will be marked with CE marking after approval according to Building Materials Directive EN 13241-2 regarding especially the fire retardant doors.

Technical specification of fireproof door El2 180; El1 120; El2 60

Certification EN 1634-1 CAMPISAFIRE OVERHEAD DOOR EI2 180, EI1 120, EI2 60

Vertical guiding tracks

Vertical galvanised steel tracks, requiring maximum 300mm free space on the both sides, opening with rollers with ball bearings of reinforced axles.

Panels

Panels consist of 600mm high core panels made of fibreglass and special fireproof resins consolidated with catalyst that sublimate at the high temperatures leaving a resistant skeleton of fibreglass that grants for the strength. The sublimation does not emit toxic gas. Panels are connected with hinges. For increasing fire resistance properties in 120 and 180 minute versions fire resistant silica panels and mineral wool panels were added. The 180 minute version includes second layer made of high density mineral wool. Panels thickens is 164mm for 180minute version, 104mm for 80mm version and 80mm for 60 minute version. Guide tracks are protected by silica panels which are fire resistant (Class 0) and with high mechanical and moisture resistance.

Ducts

On both vertical sides of the door and at the top, on overlap between the wall and door panel and between vertical protection of guide tracks and horizontal top panel and lintel fire retention ducts were installed. Movable ducts were localised in the joints between horizontal panels.

Fire seals

Seals swelling at high temperatures were installed on all moving parts.

Opening and closing system

Hydraulic opening system FIDELITY with reduced maintenance operation to be performed between required inspections. Opening by means of the drive, closing by means of gravitation forces.
Option “static” : opening with pneumohydraulic actuator with compressed air to 8bar (can be provided by portable compressor).
Option “intensive use”: automatic opening. Opening speed 0,18 or 0,09m/s for doors with weight over 750kg. It is possible to increase opening speed. Closing (adjustable) with normal speed of around 0,18m/s and at a fire alarm with speed of around 0,08 m/s.

Protections

In case of detecting an obstacle in the doorway during door closing after activation of alarm, the closing will stop, without physical contact with the obstacle, until the obstacle is removed. Door will continue the closing with speed of 0,8 m/s as the obstacle is removed, or when the back-up battery is empty.
Sound alarm in case the obstacle has not been removed for longer period of time (it is possible to place alarm in a different location); It means a constant monitoring of door pathway for possible presence of obstacles.

Finishing

All external elements of version 180 and 120 minute door are coated with RAL 1024 acrylic paint and for 60 minute version natural colour of plastic. Panels are resistant to salty mist. NOTE: it is impossible to install the usual protective ribbing.
