Fidelity loading systems

Fidelity drive and centralised control – Success of your investment.

Integrated loading systems based on hydraulic leveller and sectional door with FIDELITY drive compared to traditional systems with spring balance.

Complete loading dock with electro-hydraulic ramp and sectional door.

Advantages and disadvantages:

Traditional system

Dock leveller with motor inside the dock:

1. Risk of accident during maintenance works:
Regardless of all safety precautions used during execution of works under ramp and especially when there is no room for vehicle load platform, the work under leveller is uncomfortable and dangerous because the worker does not have control over what happens on the ramp – DISADVANTAGE
2. Soiled surroundings:
Loading zone is often soiled, garbage is accumulating in the hollow under the leveller and rats can appear – DISADVANTAGE

Centralised Fidelity system

Leveller without motor to be installed in the dock:

1. No need to perform maintenance works under the ramp:
Power supply of door and leveller is UNIQUE and is located in CONSOLE mounted on the wall at eye sight level in the place where inspections are easy to perform – ADVANTAGE
2. No need to perform maintenance works under the ramp – no risk of accidents:
for the reasons described in point 1, maintenance works do not create any risks of accident – ADVANTAGE
3. Reliability of electro-hydraulic system:
We have installed around 35 000 (as on the end of year2005) FIDELITY doors and levellers which are still intensely used. In entire year 2005 our sales department delivered only 11 replacement consoles for replacing 8 consoles damaged during collision and 3 burned as a result of incorrectly connecting them to 380V instead of 220V power supply. This is the best proof of reliability of Campisa products – they have been tested in actual work.
4. Significantly reduced risks and costs, added value – ADVANTAGE

Traditional system

Upper manual doors with springs

1. Work cycles:
Standard opening cycles – approx. 15 000
2. Adjustment of springs:
springs are losing output force depending on the use intensity and require regular adjustments – DISADVANTAGE
3. Replacemenyt of springs
springs need to be replaced when steel becomes weakened after certain number of performed operations and it lose its resiliency – DISADVANTAGE
4. Maintenance works:
adjustment of springs is quite expensive, 2 technicians must claim to the springs height. Ideal spring adjustment takes some time – DISADVANTAGE
5. Risk of accidents during maintenance works:
Adjustment of springs is quite hazardous, 2 technicians must cooperate in order not to lose the springs tension during adjustment process – DISADVANTAGE
6. Damages – cost of replacement parts:
weak springs are the major and most frequent reason for damaging the lower door panel. The operator opens the door but it does not fully open and very often forklift hits the bottom door section – DISADVANTAGE
7. Low aesthetics and dirt:
with passing time springs become soiled, accumulated grease and dirt drips down from them – DISADVANTAGE

Traditional system:

Door with top springs and electromechanical operation

With regard to costs and work performance there is no much difference to the previous cases. Operation can include MANUAL or AUTOMATIC release for manual operation:
1. Manual release
if springs are weak in manually operated door, the door falls down without activation of protection – DISADVANTAGE
2. Automatic release
if springs are weak in automatic release doors, the system could be too weak to lift the door – DISADVANTAGE

Centralised system – console CAMPISA & FIDELITY

Upper FIDELITY door powered hydraulically

1. Without springs:
the door is not equipped with springs which were replaced by FIDELITY hydraulic system – ADVANTAGE
2. Maximal reliability – 5 year warranty:
system FIDELITY is so reliable that it can be used for 500 000 cycles or 5 years providing that the annual inspections are regularly made. Such result cannot be achieved with spring system – ADVANTAGE
3. Reduced inspection requirements:
Routine inspections are reduced to simply checking oil level inside the wall console and visual inspection of all parts – ADVANTAGE
4. Eliminated risks of door damage:
door is automated so if the system is equipped with system lock preventing use of leveller when the door is not completely opened then the risk of hitting the bottom door section is eliminated. Thus lower costs for repairs and spare parts – ADVANTAGE
5. Eliminated risk of accident
after elimination of springs there is no need for spring adjustments. Inspection of doors and leveller is simple and quick and can be performed safely at wall console – ADVANTAGE
6. Reliability and durability
Centralised hydraulic system ensures reliable long time operation – ADVANTAGE
7. Aesthetics, cleanliness and added value
FIDELITY drive is much more aesthetic than spring system because there is no grease and dirt leaks – ADVANTAGE
8. EMERGENCY OPERATION:
In case of failure each console is equipped with manual pump for door opening. Due to the gravitation closing of door only requires opening of one valve, therefore with the aid of appropriate drill the door and dock leveller can operate without power. – ADVANTAGE

Comparison of electric installation costs and power:

In case of traditional installation:

2 loading docks, complete and adjoining each other including:

  • 2 hydraulic levellers with motor installed in the dock = 0,75 kW each; three-phase 400V.
  • 2 sectional doors with electromechanical powering =0,5 kW each.
  • required power 2,5 kW for 4 motors
  • 2 three-phase power lines 400V as installation costs. It has to be kept in mind that three-phase terminals are expensive.

In comparison to CENTRALISED SYSTEM CONSOLE & FIDELITY

  • 2 loading docks, complete and adjoining each other including:
  • 2 electro-hydraulic levellers in console
  • 2 sectional FIDELITY doors with centralized power supply in console
  • required power 0,75 kW at single phase 245V for 1 motor
  • 1 single phase power line 240V + earthing with simple shuco socked as installation costs

Summarising:

Power:

  • CAMPISA CENTRALISED SYSTEM = 70% less than traditional system – ADVANTAGE CAMPISA

Electrical installation:

  • CAMPISA CENTRALISED SYSTEM – 1 shuco socket, single phase power line 240V versus 4 three-phase terminals 400V of TRADITIONAL SYSTEM = ADVANTAGE CAMPISA
